"A Closer Look" 9 November 2006

On November 9th 2006, the release of Recording The Beatles was celebrated in Studio Two at Abbey Road. In attendance were most of the former EMI engineers and technicians that worked on the Beatles' sessions (and who assisted in the writing of the book). It was a wonderful reunion of friends; several were seeing each other for the first time in decades. The festivities continued later in the day as EMI celebrated its 75th Anniversary. Shown here are some photos from this momentous day. (A number of the photos were taken by Mike Banks of recordproduction.com, and a fine selection of his shots may also be found here. Additional thanks go to Dan Kehew, Brian Gibson, Terry Conway, David Burder, and Lester Smith for other photos.)
